America's Best Contacts and Eyeglasses advertises heavily, promising "2 pairs of designer eyeglasses for 69.95..."

I went to one of their locations, and was shown the section of eyeglass frames that qualified for the 69.95 deal. They showed me a meager group of ugly, out-of-style frames. I couldn't believe they were actually created by "designers". The rest of the store's frame selection, the ones that a person might actually like to wear, were at higher prices, of course.

When I finally selected a decent pair of frames, lenses, and the eye exam, the final price was over $200, the same as Lens Crafters would charge. And they don't even have same day service, like Lens Crafters. You have to wait 5 days or more.

America's Best is a waste of time.

I was lead to believe that I would get two sets of glasses by the saleswomen. She marked them to show where the bi-focles would be. She generated a sales receitp that was for the purchase of one set of glasses instead of 2 which she constantly after being asked by me, if this was what I had signed up for.

The representatives kept calling me saying you need to pick up your glasses. I went.

This was a horrible experience. Instead of two pair of eye ware that I was fitted for, I was told I would only receive one pair.

I asked to speak with the supervisor on site in private and not in the show room in front of customers. This female supervisor chose to seat me in the show room in full view of other customers,

while I told how I felt I had been misconcieved.

I took the 1 pair of glasses instead of 2 pair that I was lead to believe I would receive, and expressed how I would spread the word about the "Bait And Switch" that had happened to me, through the Better Buisness Bureau".

I never cursed or swore at the staff. however, I suggested that the saleswaoman that handled my transaction, should come over and look me in the eye and suggest that she did a legitimate sale.

The supervisor took my suggestion to another level by reprimanding me saying" I will not let you (something I don't exactly remember, but bordered on" I will not let you humilate my Girl. She has been on the job 3 years and knows her job and your insurance coverage for at least three years.".

My response was "call her over and let her look me in the eye and tell me that she did not wright me up and measure me for two pair of bi-focul glasses.

When the saleswomen was asked in the presence of the showroom, if she had signed me up for two pairs of glasses instead one one pair, she automatically stated, " Her insurance company only pays for one pair instead of two pair."

This was not the info that I received when I was at the initial appointment. If I only qualified for their sales promotion, insurance and flexible acount payment, why was I led to believe that I would receive 2 pairs of glasses instead of 1 pair?

I went to the same location two years ago and got two pair of designer frame glasses and that was still on their file.

In this economy, I would never, ever, criticize an industry such as this. I am just saying "Buyer Beware.

Their offer to cancel the order and refund my insurance and flexible spending account was not an option since this occurred on 12/27/08 and I needed to exhaust the account by 12/31/08 in order to not lose these monies in the account.

I told this so called superviso that I would never patronize their establishment again and I would tell everyone that I know not to fall for their Bait and Switch scheme.

I also let them know by a later phone call, that I was extremely upset during my visit and apoligized for being what migh have appeared to be rude, but, not wrong in my thinking.

I will never ever go there again.

These people act like used car salesmen/women. They are in my opinion, s--- a----- and should be investigated by the State Attorney General's office.
